BMW Group has just officially become one of the new automakers to join the application of the North American Charging Standard (NACS) developed by Tesla.
On October 17, the BMW Group announced that, starting in 2025, it will apply Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) to all electric vehicle models under the BMW, Mini and Rolls brands. Royce in the North American market. The German automaker said the move is part of its commitment to providing the best service to its customers.
According to the agreement, from the beginning of 2025, all BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce car models sold in the North American market will be able to use Tesla’s Supercharger charging station system through an adapter. The company also said that upcoming vehicle models will be equipped with compatible charging ports.
In addition, BMW has committed to updating the software of vehicle models of the above three brands to integrate the Tesla charging station search feature. Payment options will also be integrated directly into each company’s own application.

Tesla, with its leading position and widespread network of Superchargers, has been at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution. Tesla’s NACS charging port standard is considered simple, convenient and trouble-free.
Furthermore, BMW has also partnered with General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Hyundai, Kia and Stellantis to establish a joint charging station network in North America. This project is expected to build about 30,000 charging stations, equipped with both NACS and CCS charging ports.
