Cool: Lubricants disperse heat generated by friction and fuel combustion up to more than 350°C in the piston area.

Lubricants according to viscosity (SAE)

SAE is a parameter used to indicate the thickness and thinness of engine oil. Oils with low SAE are effective when the vehicle operates at low rpm, providing a more “fast” driving feel. On the contrary, at high rpm, the engine often heats up quickly because the oil is too loose. According to experts, this type of oil is suitable for cars that often travel long distances at high speeds, because the engine can be continuously cooled.

Car oil High SAE helps the vehicle operate more stably and smoothly at high rpm. In big cities, people prefer lubricants with SAE 20, 30 and 40 depending on operating needs due to hot weather, cold weather or traffic jams that prevent the engine from having enough air to cool. That temperature is determined by subtracting that number from 30, but calculated at negative temperatures. For example, 20W-50 oil starts well at -10 degrees Celsius. 10W-30 oil starts well at -20 degrees Celsius…
  • The larger the number after “W-“, the thicker it is; the smaller it is, the thinner it is. For example, for a car that often goes on trips, you should choose thick oil because when going on trips, the engine will be hot, the oil will thin out, if you choose thin oil it will cause the phenomenon of “engine screaming”. When traveling in the city, you should choose thinner oil so that the car can start easily after stopping and starting many times.

Lubricants according to quality features (API)

API is a quality assessment standard, a performance level to distinguish lubricants for gasoline engines and diesel engines. Normally, the highest API level for gasoline engines today is SP or SN, then SM, SL, SJ, etc. With the current API level for diesel engines, the highest oil levels are CA-4, CK- 4, CI-4, CH4 are older than CG-4 and CH-4. According to API standards, synthetic oils have the highest quality, followed by semi-synthetic oils and finally mineral oils. Using oil with the wrong API can harm the engine. Specifically, the machine will heat up quickly, the engine will wear out quickly due to high friction speed and reduced lubrication ability.


How to read API feature level

  • API quality levels for gasoline engines are SA, SB, SC, SE, SF, SG,… to the current newest level, API SN. API for Diesel engines are denoted as CA, CB, CC, CD…
  • In particular, the last letter is used to distinguish levels and is arranged alphabetically, the letter that comes next represents the higher level. For example, API SN grade is higher than SM, SM is higher than SL, etc.
