Xiaomi, the leading phone company from China, is about to officially enter the electric car market with a new car model – Xiaomi SU7. Manufactured at BAIC’s factory, this is a strong competitor capable of competing with names like Tesla Model 3 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 in the Chinese market.

With the previous code name MS11, Xiaomi SU7 has revealed images and specifications, showing a compact but impressive electric car. The front of the car is compared to McLaren, while the rear has a Porsche style with open/close spoiler. The door handles are designed to hide into the car body, optimizing aerodynamics.

With the same size as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Xiaomi SU7’s wheelbase reaches 3,000 mm, larger than the Tesla Model 3. Users have flexibility with two choices of 19 or 20 inch wheels. The radar system on the windshield shows the level of driver assistance technology. The SU7, SU7 Pro and SU7 Max will be available later this year, with the powertrain offering 295 horsepower for the single-wheel drive variant and a top speed of 210 km/h, while the AWD variant with 664 horsepower reaching speeds of up to 265 km/h.

Xiaomi SU7 is not just an ordinary electric car. Originating from Xiaomi’s origins as a smartphone company, this car model will be equipped with an advanced connection system between phone and car. The unique HyperOS system developed by Xiaomi will highlight the unique features of this car.

Xiaomi, after heavily investing 10 billion Yuan in the electric car production project, is expected to hand over the first Xiaomi SU7s in February 2024.
