“Vietnam auto market October 2023: Top 10 Best-Selling Cars and Consumption Trends”

In October 2023, the Vietnamese automobile market recorded an impressive number with more than 25,000 cars sold nationwide. The Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) announced that sales this month reached 25,369 vehicles, down 31% over the same period last year, but still maintaining stability compared to September 2023. .

Of the total number of vehicles consumed, 19,624 are tourist vehicles, 5,604 are commercial vehicles and 141 are specialized vehicles. Total automobile sales as of October 2023 decreased by 29% compared to 2022. Passenger cars decreased by 32%, commercial vehicles decreased by 16%, and specialized vehicles decreased by up to 60%.

Notably, domestically assembled cars decreased by 27%, while imported cars also decreased by 33%, showing a negative impact on both domestically assembled businesses and the auto import industry.

Consumption Trends

According to VAMA’s report, in October, sales had certain fluctuations. Passenger cars decreased slightly by 0.2%, while commercial vehicles increased by 1%, and specialized vehicles decreased by 14% compared to the previous month. Sales of domestically assembled cars decreased by 1%, while imported cars increased by 2% compared to September.

  2. Hyundai Accent: 1,474 vehicles.
  3. Toyota Vios: 1,463 vehicles.

  5. Mitsubishi Xpander: 1,277 vehicles.
  6. Hyundai Tucson: 1,249 vehicles.
  7. Hyundai Creta: 1,235 vehicles.
  8. KIA Sonet: 1,152 vehicles.
  9. KIA Seltos: 1,091 vehicles.
  10. Hyundai Santa Fe: 919 vehicles.

These numbers clearly reflect consumer preference for car models from famous manufacturers such as Mazda, Hyundai, Toyota and Ford in the Vietnamese auto market. Along with that, consumption trends in October are witnessing certain changes, creating new opportunities and challenges for the auto industry in the near future.
